I think if you want some constructive advice you will have to post the various settings you are using so the guys with the knowledge can best advise you.
Edit: BTW I've also used diff settings to help with the handbraking on the tarmac stages - happy to share that with you - will dig them out later and post back. Graham Bridgett. This is good stuff guys keep it coming. I kind of know my way around a suspension setup but diffs are a total mystery to me. I don't really like to have a lot of steering lock either, I use about degrees in game. Pete: As for my camera position i just the standard RBR bumper cam.
John Cunningham. Dont do things alltogether or you wont know which one is giving you the most benefit. Pete Mull said:. Also you could play about with the front and rear diff settings if you wanted the car with a more equal balance between the diffs. I've got something im happy with now, so I will actually enter the rally now. Ozan Bas. Ozan Bas said:.
David Jundt. In the geometry area, I could change the upper 4 settings which influenced the 4 on the bottom. Is that so, or am I missing something? Information is scattered all over the site and I've never managed to become comfortable with it. Any guidance will be appreciated! Warren Dawes Premium. The game doesn't provide you with any default setups in the Saved Games Folder, you have to create them yourself by saving a setup in-game. Or you could add some downloaded ones there, but there aren't too many available.
We try to encourage the top drivers to post their setups, but they seem to be reluctant to share. Most of the default setups are pretty good as a starting point, although there are a few cars that are not well setup.
It's best to get used to driving the stages with mainly default setup before fiddling too much into the "black art" it is a bit like that for me too. I mainly start by adjusting the brake pressures to get the bias better balanced, mainly moving the bias forward, many of the default setups are set to be very loose under brakes and making the rear end let go if you hit the skids too hard.
I also adjust the gear settings to suit the stage. If you want to understand the "black art" better, the game manual has a good description of each setting. If you search through this Forum or the main RBR Forum, there are a few good articles, particularly re steering ratios and tuning the steering, I found those helpful. Warren Dawes said:. Click to expand I am not a big fan of online racing or career modes. I always drive alone and race against the clock. Right now I am trying to tame Hualapai II.
My best time is and after watching many of the videos posted online, I'm right in the mix. But the stage record is and I can't conceive of that being possible. So I have to wonder: Is there cheating going on here? If not, then what could their setups possibly be?
I'm not the best or worst but I did beat the Rally School test with a Are the stage records realistic or arbitrary? Are there people who are really that good? There is no cheating. At Rallyesim official championships, those times are beaten by 20 seconds or more sometimes, the default records are supposed to be realistic. Manuel Samaniego said:. They are just people who are good at it, and have driven those stages hundreds of times. Don't know what the Chirdonhead record is, but this is science fiction for me:.
John Cunningham. Alas Lee I was like you a year and a half ago Sadly i went through the 'cheating phase' followed by a woeful trip down the 'tweaking my own set-up' route, only to discover that it was just lack of talent and gawd knows how many hours of practice.
Playing on your own against the polluter does not, unfortunately, introduce you to likes of the talented drivers you will meet here. Whats reaaaaaaaaaaaally gonna make you cry is when you do get involved, you have set your first rd rbr stage time, sitting there all itchy in your flame retarding underpants and racing hat thinking you have done well and then find out you got beat by someone on a keyboard and who was probably watching tv or surfing the web whilst kicking your ass.
Sure does humble one, racing here lol. Plus side is that it makes it all alot more intense trying to compete with the 'aliens' we have here So to answer, yes they are really that good and I am not lmao! Anyway thanks for the tip with the reddit group i will look over there for sure. Hi, have a lot of old setups. Most for EVO9. Before NGP physics I now try to fix new setup and its not easy.
Almost everyone for example damper, springs is very low. Same for WRC cars, very low settings. If sameone has a setup for gravel and tarmac and Pribram tarmac settings to share. When I can build a good setup for my driving technique. But I need a good ground setup first. Even settings for diff I need. What a f--k is wrong. I drive Polo R5, I have default setup. Now the game says to high value?????
And diff centerbrake value 7 8 9 bla bla is wrong. I never do samething on centerbrake in the game. No one tips why my setup is wrong in game? What I doing wrong? And why are there no max limit so I cant doing a wrong setup in NGP6? Please help me with this so I can drive RBR again. Last edited: Dec 30, Sorry buddy, but these settings are absolute bullshit.
Without specifying to which car these belong, they are not worth a penny. Do you really think that e. Your brake settings are ridiculous, so is your toe always negative, really? Setting long gearbox is nonsense, just because you are not able to control your throttle properly.
Click to expand A one-shot ride at Fraizer Wells yielded a as well, with lots of room for improvement. As I am not the fastest and consistent driver I would say that this is a laughable time. Nevermind, otherwise some guys may get the impression that only with "magic" setups decent times could be achived. I've just started playing RBR since about a week, i'm starting to get the hang of it but there is some setup options that i don't know what it does and if i should change it. I read that fast bump threshold determines the amount of pressure needed to activate fast bump but when should i change it?
What is handbrake release and when should i change it, 3. I know how the rear and forward differential lock works, but what does the center setting do? How should i set camber and caster? I use around Also how should i setup the helper?
