The game seems impossible to many beginners, yet is solvable with a simple algorithm:. The above is a recursive algorithm: to carry out steps 1 and 3, apply the same algorithm again for n? This step, moving a single disc from peg A to peg B, is trivial. The Tower of Hanoi is a problem often used brain stretching games, also for beginning programming, in particular as an example of a simple recursive algorithm.
It is also an example of an exponential time algorithm — for all but the smallest number of discs, it will take an impractically huge amount of time, even on the fastest computers in the world. Boards Xbox Does stacking game cases with discs inside, damage the disc? Rawe 7 years ago 1. DOes stacking them like that ruin the disc? Porcupine 7 years ago 2. The only question is whether or not stacking them like that ruins the case. When you stack like that, you'll notice that the cases aren't quite in alignment with each other. It's actually almost impossible to align them perfectly due to the slight ridges molded into the surface of disc cases.
So the cases always rub against each other and it may be the cause of the scratches in the clear plastic covering that you often see on used game cases. Stacking laserdiscs like that though, can damage the discs if the stack is more than a few discs high. I've had bigger piles than that and the disks are fine.
PStrife 7 years ago 5. I would worry mo about the crappy game cases breaking from all the poorly designed weight. I always think about this when Happy Console Gamer welcomes me to another episode hehe No idea if it is true though. Re: How does stacking disc based games affect wear? At the very least I give them all generic cases.
Cartridges and games in cases I will sometimes lay flat to stack in columns. The reason is ultimately space; I haven't got the room to lay out nearly SNES carts any other way.
When I want to pull one out, I pull the whole column and then dismantle it to get to the game. Yes, it's time consuming, but I find something meditative about the action too.
